About IJMB Exam

IJMB, a short term for Interim Joint Matriculation Board, is a qualifying exam approved by Federal Government as certified examination body, charged with the responsibility of conducting and processing direct entry admissions programme.

In order words, IJMB enrollment centers are strategically positioned for easy access across the federation.

The IJMB exam consists of two papers for each subject: Paper 1 (Multiple Choice Questions) and Paper 2 (Essay Questions). The exam is usually held in February every year at various accredited centers across Nigeria.

The IJMB exam is graded on a scale of A to F, with A being the highest and F being the lowest. The total score for each subject is 20 points, and the overall score for the three subjects is 60 points. The minimum score required to qualify for admission into any university is 5 points

Programme Duration

The programme runs for a maximum period of one academic session (9-10 months) divided into two (2) semesters. Academic activities in all our centers begin every March and ends January. The examination is conducted every February.

Programme Eligibility

The programme is open to all interested candidates nationwide and any course can be offered be it Science, Art or Social Science.
